Hanson ordered a fleet of forty Starfleet vessels to assemble in the Wolf 359 System to intercept the Cube before it reached its target. Despite an attempt to hide from the Cube in the Paulson Nebula, the Borg boarded the Enterprise and transported Picard to their vessel, which promptly set a course to the Sol System. Enterprise-D investigated the attack and was intercepted by the Cube, whose crew demanded that Captain Jean-Luc Picard surrender himself to them.
In late 2366, a Borg Cube entered Federation space and destroyed the New Providence colony on Jouret IV.
